Abstract

This study collates the new progress in grape disease resistance, explains how CRISPR/Cas9 is used in the research and improvement of disease resistance genes, summarizes the pathogenesis of common grape diseases, and which disease resistance genes have been discovered and studied. It also analyzes some examples of improving grape disease resistance using CRISPR technology. This study also elaborates on the possible problems that CRISPR may encounter in the application of grapes, proposes some improvement methods for these problems, and discusses how gene editing can be combined with traditional breeding, how multiple traits can be improved simultaneously in the future, and how to better promote the market. This research aims to provide a scientific basis for the study of grape disease resistance and the breeding of more disease-resistant and market-popular grape varieties.
